modernAKIS coaching sessions 2026 | From establishing to strengthening national CoPs
Between March and August 2026, modernAKIS organised a second round of in-person coaching sessions for national Community of Practice (CoP) managers. Four sessions were held in Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia and Sweden, bringing together 35 participants from 23 Member States.
While the first coaching round in 2023 focused on establishing national CoPs, the second round shifted the focus towards making them operational and effective in practice. National CoP managers exchanged experiences, challenges and solutions on topics such as facilitation, participation, ownership, follow-up and the links between national CoPs and cross-country CoPs (ccCoPs). Throughout the sessions, participants also explored and practised a range of tools and methods that they can use to facilitate and strengthen their own CoPs.
The exchanges showed that national CoPs operate in different AKIS contexts and are at different stages of development. Peer exchange and mutual learning helped participants explore practical approaches, learn from experiences in other countries and take new ideas back to their own national CoPs.
