SEMINAR SUM-UP: “Cross-border cooperation for a more innovative rural area in the Galicia-North Portugal Euroregion”

The seminar “Cross-border cooperation for a more innovative rural area in the Galicia-North Portugal Euroregiontook place in Valença on 09/06 where part of the innovation team of FEUGA, Nuria Rodríguez and Rebeca Díez, attended. In this event the Galician Foundation Juana de Vega presented the project: “KICAP – Boosting Knowledge and Innovation in rural areas through CAP support”. The main objective of the KICAP project is to transfer knowledge among the actors of the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) on the contribution of the CAP to the modernisation of the agricultural sector and to the promotion of the innovation necessary to ensure sustainability in the Galicia-North Portugal Euroregion.

The goal of the seminar was to present the main results and activities of the project that started on August 2022 with a budget of 234.000 €.

The event was attended by members of the research community, sectoral representatives of AKIS, agricultural associations and knowledge transfer organisations. Also from the European Commission, Alexandra Catalão and Carmen Calderón-Gutiérrez spoke about the strengthening of AKIS in Europe and why this is a priority for Europe.

FEUGA presented the main objectives of the project modernAKIS, discussed the different perspectives of the AKIS in Europe and explored the possible synergies with the project KICAP during the dynamics of the seminar and the interactive session.
